This 6 Day Coastal and Cultural Tour of Zanzibar focuses on coastal relaxation and a visit to the cultural and historical richness that Zanzibar has. It includes time in Stonetown as well as in the spice and beaches with this beautiful East African island country
Arrive and Picked from Zanzibar airport or seaport and drive to Stone town hotel. Overnight in Stone Town and overnight at the hotel beside the zanzibar beach.
Today we will leave for a day of walking tours and visit the clean locla market which is a busy market with noise and the smell of spices.The visit also takes the cathedral which dates back to 1874 and was built on the same part of the land from which the slave market operated. From the cathedral and the slave market we visit the residence of the late Sultan of Zanzibar, these include Tip Tip House, Old Fort, Peoples Palace and House of Wonders. After a relaxing walk through the narrow streets of Stonetown for shopping opportunities, we head back to the hotel. Later this afternoon we leave the hotel for a sunny walk along the waterfront of Stone Town. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel benieth with zanzibar beach.
Today we are heading to a visit the famous spice plantations in Zanzibar. The tour allows visitors to see the plants growing as well as to smell and taste different flavour. This may include nutmeg, rambutan, lipstick, iodine plant, lemon, vanilla, henna etc. Before our lunch, we visit the Persian Dutch bathrooms built by Said Said bin Sultan of Zanzibar in 1850. We also visit the ruins of the Maruhubi Palace built by another Sultan in a house none other than the 99 female wives.
After lunch, you will be transferred to the Blue Bay Beach Resort on the East coast. Accommodation on Half Board basis is included
Spend the day relaxing on the beaches of the East Coast or in the swimming pool. Computer diving or diving courses are available (at an additional cost) at many coastal centers in Zanzibar. Accommodation at the Basic Half at the Blue Bay Beach Hotel is included
After breakfast transfer to the airport for flight back home after your exciting African holiday.
